I want to start out by congratulating you for seeking help! Change can be very scary, but also exciting. It’s never easy to take a first step, but you are not alone. Whether you are working through a specific challenge, or dealing with day-to-day stress, I am here to help. Together we can increase your self-awareness and understanding of the issues you are facing. This awareness will allow us to put your inner-strengths to work, leading you on a path of empowerment, happiness.
I am a licensed clinical social worker and you will be able to tell from our first meeting that I am extremely passionate about what I do. For the past five years I have been providing outpatient therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults. A lot of what I do revolves around helping my patients manage symptoms of anxiety and depression. I also help families improve the quality of their relationships by identifying unhealthy patterns and teaching positive communication skills.
Along with my outpatient background, I am fortunate enough to have spent that last seven years working as a school social worker. This has helped me to understand the stress that teenagers face as they are pressured to get good grades, manage friendships all while undergoing many developmental changes. I offer crisis intervention and short-term counseling to adolescents and their families to help tackle some of these tough challenges. While working in a school setting, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with a child study team, which has allowed me to advocate for students and understand their specific needs inside the classroom and within our educational system.
Clients often ask which method of treatment I use. I find that therapy is most effective with a variety of therapeutic methods that are tailored to the specific needs of each individual.
The passion I have for helping others serves as my greatest motivator. Overall, my goal is to help empower others to be the best version of themselves. I look forward to working together to help you along your journey of self-improvement.
